Penny Chuah

Penny Chuah - Mowat Mackie & Anderson Accounting Oakland

Penny’s current work experience includes tax compliance and planning for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates.  She has worked with clients with foreign asset reporting requirements.  She is also responsible for the fiduciary accounting reports for trusts or estates and compilation reports for small businesses.

Penny began her career at the predecessor of Pricewaterhouse Coopers about 27 years ago. She then worked for a local firm for 25 of those years where she was a part of the long-term clients’ celebrations of their different life stages, for individuals: from starting their career to retirement to wealth transfers, and for businesses:  from startup to ultimate sale.  Further, she has assisted in investment accounting and analysis.

Alexis Claypool - Mowat Mackie & Anderson Accounting Oakland

Alexis Claypool began her career with Frank Rimerman + Co., LLP in their San Francisco office. During her tenure there she focused on individual high net worth clients, their closely held businesses, and their trusts and foundations.

She joined Mowat Mackie & Anderson LLP in 2010, where she continues to work with individual high net worth clients and focus on their tax needs. She also specializes in trust and estate taxation and planning.

Suzanne Ferraro

Suzanne Ferraro - Mowat Mackie & Anderson Accounting Oakland

Suzanne began her career with Chevron in oil and gas accounting. She was responsible for partnership accounting at a real estate management company, was a staff accountant at a CPA firm, and was controller for a retail store and catalog business. She has been Tax Manager at the firm since 2009.

Suzanne has nearly 30 years of experience in accounting and taxation. She specializes in taxation for business entities and self-employed individuals, including partnerships, corporations, S corporations and sole proprietors. She has extensive experience in valuation of small businesses for succession planning, estate planning and buy-sell arrangements. Suzanne has worked in a range of industries, including oil and gas, software and real estate.

Carolyn has ten years of experience in public accounting, providing both audit and tax services to privately held businesses, individuals, and nonprofit organizations. She began her accounting career at Lautze & Lautze CPAs, and joined Mowat Mackie Anderson in 2016.

Previously, she served as Executive Director of a nonprofit social services organization assisting low-income families with food, housing, and job placement.

Jessica joined Mowat Mackie & Anderson LLP in 2016. Previously, she worked at a boutique tax firm in San Francisco for eight years, focusing on ultra-high net worth family groups and their related entities. As such, she has a wide range of experience with individual, family limited partnership, trust, private foundation, and closely-held corporate tax work.

Well-educated in math and science, Jessica is adept at the technical aspects of tax compliance and planning. However, she most enjoys the relationships that she develops with clients, their advisors, and the staff she helps develop and mentor.

Rumi Matsuura

Rumi Matsuura - Mowat Mackie & Anderson Accounting Oakland

Rumi began her career in Japan, where she worked in banking and with other private companies as a controller. She moved to the U.S. in 2001 and Rumi joined Mowat Mackie & Anderson in 2009.

She started her public accounting career with Eckhoff Accountancy Corporation in San Rafael, where she focused on audits, reviews, and compilations for private companies.

Rumi has prepared tax returns for corporations, individuals, and trusts, and gained a solid foundation in accounting principles.

Max began his public accounting career with RINA Accountancy, and has nine years of experience in public accounting, with an emphasis in audit. He has worked with both non-public entities and not-for-profit organizations.

Previously, he spent five years in radio broadcast sales with Susquehanna Radio Corp and Clear Channel Communications.
